More than 500 alumni, students, faculty, staff, and friends attended DU’s Homecoming hockey game on Friday, October 2 against Grand Valley State University. Many enjoyed the tailgate party prior to the game, where highlights included live music, a visit from Pounce Panther, dinner catered by Brann’s Steakhouse and giveaways from the Alumni Association. Congratulations to DU’s Division II hockey team, who beat cross town rivals GVSU by a score of 3-0. Visit the DU athletics website for a complete recap of the game and upcoming hockey schedule.

Homecoming Ambassadors receive Alumni Association Scholarship

2009-panther-ambassadors

2009 Panther Ambassadors Mitch Reatini and Adam Isley

At this year’s Homecoming tailgate event two students were chosen as 2009 Homecoming Panther Ambassadors: Mitch Reatini, a junior studying strategic management in the BBA/MBA program, and Adam Isley, a junior in the accounting honors program. Each ambassador received a $1,000 scholarship from the Alumni Association.

Finalists were chosen based on meeting the requirements of being enrolled as a full-time student of junior standing or above and maintaining a GPA of 3.0 or above. Since the Panther Ambassadors are role models for the entire university, candidates must exhibit such qualities as leadership, good citizenship, community service involvement, and strong communication skills.

Panther Ambassadors will be active participants in alumni and student life events and programs throughout the year, including the planning for next year’s Spirit Week activities and Homecoming tailgate. In addition, this year’s Ambassadors have been asked to attend next year’s Homecoming game to pass on their honor to the next recipients.

The Alumni Association congratulates both Mitch and Adam and thanks them for their outstanding accomplishments and positive influence within our university.
