Neighboring Schools Team Up to Inspire Adult Learners

Eight schools of higher learning are working together to plan a free event designed to help adult learners who are looking to boost their careers or change their career path.

As a DU alum, you are invited to attend “U Drive Success.” on Wednesday, April 28, at Schoolcraft College’s VisTaTech Center. Event workshops will offer pointers on starting your own business and tips on networking and other job-hunting strategies. Attendees can also brush up on their resume writing and interviewing skills.

Time: 3:30–8 p.m.
Keynote: 6 p.m.: WDIV TV (Channel 4)  news anchor - Rhonda Walker
Where: Schoolcraft College’s VisTaTech Center
Cost: Free

You can participate in as many as three 45-minute workshops scheduled around the 6 p.m. keynote presentation. There will be opportunities for networking and refreshments will be served.

The program is coordinated by the Livonia Chamber of Commerce and its partners, including Schoolcraft College, Madonna University, Davenport University, Walsh College, the University of Phoenix, Northwood University, Eastern Michigan University and ITT Technical Institute. Each school will bring experts to lead the free workshops. The Ford Motor Company will provide human resources professionals and Michigan Works! will provide information that connects those looking to go to school to grant money and other resources.
