Veterans – we need your photos!

Any service members associated with DU are being asked to submit photos from their military experiences. These photos can be of any military action or simply a photo of you in full uniform. These photos will be used in creating the video that will be displayed university-wide on the flat screen monitors on Veteran’s Day and during the evening events.

Photos can be submitted to Jason Madden, alumni relations manager,  no later than 6 p.m. on Nov. 5, 2010. Any veteran who submits a photo will be entered to win a DU hooded sweatshirt or iPod Nano.

We thank these veterans for their service and recognize them for the sacrifices they have made to allow us the freedoms we enjoy today.

Veterans Day is Nov. 11

10_2987b_veterans_jpgAs a way to recognize veterans for their military service, during war or peacetime, Davenport University is celebrating Veteran’s Day on Nov. 11, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. on the W.A. Lettinga Campus. A portion of the program will be video portraying photos of those in the DU community who have served this nation.

The event will also feature members of the armed forces from the Army and Air National Guard setting up displays of vehicles and equipment currently being used to fight the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Local recruiters from the armed forces will also be on campus to answer any questions about military service and the opportunities and benefits that are available by joining the military.

Happy Halloween from the Alumni Association!
