Detroit College of Business Alumni Reunion Golf Outing is now on September 28

It’s not too late to join a great group of Detroit College of Business and Davenport University alumni and friends for a fun day of golf at Dearborn Hills Golf Club on September 28. Please sign up to golf or for our delicious steak lunch buffet, fun and prizes.

A record year for the Scholarship Golf Classic

A perfect August day was the setting for the 26th Annual Davenport Scholarship Golf Classic, held at Egypt Valley Country Club. For the third year in a row, the course was filled to capacity with over 280 golfers.

We thank everyone who came out to play and those who joined us for dinner and the auction. We are sincerely grateful to this year’s Title Sponsor, Integrated Architecture, and all of our 2012 sponsors for their generous contributions. All funds raised will support Davenport University student scholarships and Davenport Athletics.

Peg Luy hired as new Executive Vice President for Advancement

Peg Luy, new EVP for Advancement at Davenport University

After a thorough national search, Peg Luy will serve as Davenport’s new Executive Vice President for Advancement. Peg currently serves as Vice President for Alumni and Development at Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois. She will begin her new role at Davenport in early October.

The decision to hire Peg was based on her considerable professional experience, including leadership of successful capital campaigns, such as the 10-year, $120-million campaign she led for Millikin that exceeded the goal by $7 million and was completed six months ahead of schedule. Peg also grew Millikin’s endowment from $50 million to $106 million.

Peg’s leadership extended to Millikin’s successful grant writing program and alumni relations. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Millikin and has completed graduate work at the University of Illinois–Champaign-Urbana.

6th Annual Fall Crawl 5K Fun Run/Walk

The 6th Annual Fall Crawl 5K Fun Run/Walk on Saturday, September 29th. This fun run/walk is open to students, alumni, faculty & staff and the community. The 3.1 mile course will be through the W.A. Lettinga Campus and the Kraft Lake Office Park (Foremost Insurance Property).

Serious and amateur athletes are allowed to start first, followed by walking individuals and families.

When:  Saturday, September 29
Time:    8 a.m.  – Registration at the DU Student Center (Map)
9 a.m. – Race starts

Fee:
$11.76* – Students
$17.02* – Alumni, Faculty & Staff
$22.27* – General public
Children 12 & under are free
*Includes processing fee

Following the run there will be a complimentary breakfast in the Dining Hall within South Hall for all race participants.

All proceeds from the race will benefit the DU Cares Partner – Gilda’s Club and The Student Scholarship Fund.
