We welcome everyone to the seventh season of the Grand Rapids Latin American Film Festival (GRLAFF), which has been bringing films that represent diverse perspectives, origins, and themes to the Wealthy Theatre since 2010. The festival will run March 31 – April 2, 2017, at the Wealthy Theatre at 1130 Wealthy Street SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49506. The mission of the Festival is to foster a nuanced understanding of Latin American and Latino experiences through the art of film, to provide opportunities for constructive dialogue across cultures, and to enrich the social fabric of our community.

This year’s festival features award-winning films from Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, Peru, and Uruguay. Throughout the three days, a number of films will also be followed by discussions where audience members can interact with directors and local speakers. Please join us and enjoy some Latin American-style refreshments from Mi Casa Restaurante!

GRLAFF is a free event sponsored by a coalition of area universities (Davenport University, Grand Valley State University, Aquinas College, Calvin College, and Ferris State University), the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs, Pragda Spanish Film Club, and the Consulate of Colombia in Chicago.
