Bookstore Closing for Inventory June 28

The bookstore will close early for inventory Wednesday, June 28, at 12:00 p.m. through June 30. The bookstore will also close early at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 27.
Orders can still be placed online at DUspirit.com during this time. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Normal hours will resume starting July 3.

Davenport History Book Earns National Award

Davenport: Educating Across Three Centuries, co-authored by Margaret (Peggy) Moceri and former DU Provost Thomas Brown, Ph.D., recently earned national distinction at the 11th Annual National Indie Excellence® Awards, winning the Coffee Table Book category. This awards competition for independent book publishers was judged by industry experts, including publishers, writers, editors, book cover designers and professional copywriters.

New Career Services Team Members

Career Services is pleased to announce three new team members at the W.A. Lettinga Campus!  We  welcomed Ethan Tanis, Matthew Krevda and Genevieve Steffes to the SC306 office.  They bring experience in higher education, student affairs and career services to the team.  All  have completed a master’s degree and worked in positions outside of higher education.

The University’s fiscal year end is June 30, 2017.  In order to accurately process and report our financial information our systems, Banner and TouchNet, will be offline for a short period of time. Actual times are listed below.

P-Card:

  • If you use your DU procurement card between June 22 and June 30, please go to http://sdg2.53.com and complete the online reconciliation by noon on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 for all charges posting in the reporting cycle “JULY 2017 Cycle”.
  • NOTE: Only the online portion must be completed at this time – it is not necessary to run your report.

11th Annual High School Senior ADDIX Basketball All-Star Games

All DU faculty and staff are invited to the 2017 High School All-Star basketball games for the ADDIX BASKETBALL Champions Classic being held at the W.A. Lettinga Campus June 14-15.  Top senior high school basketball players from the greater West Michigan area (OK Conferences – 51 schools) will play in front of their hometown fans one final time at Davenport  University.

Holland Campus Hosts Hamilton Middle School Freaky Sneakers Event

On Thursday, June 1, the Holland Campus hosted Hamilton Middle School for the second annual Freaky Sneakers event!  To help students understand marketing concepts,the seventh grade teams were tasked to design a sneaker to deliver to market while addressing the four P’s of marketing.  These seventh graders really impressed the judges with fun designs and innovative marketing approaches!
